QCN Connects Queensland’s Emergency Services

QCN is celebrating its fifth anniversary in style, with a landmark achievement that further validates its crucial role in Queensland’s telecommunications market.

QCN has partnered with CITEC, to secure critical diversity for Queensland’s Emergency Services Dispatch Network.

QCN, leveraging its unique access to Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) fibre and telecomm-unication ducts that support the electricity network, is uniquely positioned to deliver high-capacity backhaul to Emergency Services’ sites across Queensland.

QCN’s infrastructure is entirely separate from other telecommunications providers, offering maximum diversity and reliability.

“Often, customer backhaul routes via traditional carriers can be located in common pits and duct networks, at times restricting the customer’s ability to achieve true diversity.” said QCN CTO, Jason Horan.

“This project not only exemplifies the government’s strategic use of its assets to benefit Queenslanders, particularly in regional areas, but also aligns with QCN’s strategic mandate to break the digital divide in Queensland.”
