Rachel Bauer

Chair

Rachel has spent over 20 years leading Technology, Operations, and Customer Experience functions across both enterprise and small business environments. With hands-on experience running a banking franchise for more than 18 years, as well as owning an e-commerce store, a café, and most recently launching a mortgage brokerage in Gladstone, Rachel remains deeply grounded in the everyday challenges faced by small business owners.

She currently serves as Chief Information and Operations Officer at the company, Like A Photon Creative, where she is helping guide the Queensland based animation studio through a period of significant growth as it delivers more homegrown content to global screens.

Rachel is passionate about bridging the digital divide for regional businesses, championing practical, affordable solutions that empower teams to do more with less, support business growth and ultimately build a resilient future for local communities.

Jane Seawright

Independent Director

Jane is an experienced lawyer, marketing professional and non-executive director with wide experience across the sport, mining, education, health, innovation and arts sectors. Jane has previously served as Chair of the Queensland Institute of Medical Research Trust and a board member of the Residential Tenancies Authority, Chair of TAFE Queensland and a non-executive director of Netball Australia and True North Copper Limited. She has held roles as company secretary and general counsel at Mining3 and Northern Australia Primary Health Limited, and is Deputy Chair of Racing Queensland and Deputy Chair of The Australian Festival of Chamber Music. Jane is a proud Townsville resident.

Ruth Durrant

Member Director, Energy Queensland

Ruth is an accomplished communications professional with more than 20 years’ experience across media and diverse industries. Her expertise in communications strategy, stakeholder management, crisis and emergency response is underpinned by her demonstrated interest in social impact and engagement.

Ruth started her career as a journalist, working throughout regional Queensland, before shifting into not-for-profits and then joining the energy sector. She now leads the Corporate Affairs function for Energy Queensland. Ruth also holds a Director position on the Board of AEIOU Foundation.

Darryl Rowell

Member Director, Powerlink

Darryl is an experienced executive in both Australia and New Zealand with a background in both private and public sectors, including the energy industry.

Prior to joining Powerlink, Darryl was the Chief Financial Officer at Queensland Urban Utilities.

At Powerlink, Darryl manages all finance, tax, treasury, investment analysis, contract management, internal audit, insurance, network regulation, and legal, business and risk services. He is also Powerlink’s Company Secretary.
